Where can I buy tickets?
You can purchase your tickets online via our website, or directly on site at the château. Tickets are also available at local tourist offices.
Note: Tickets purchased online do not include skip-the-line access.
Why is the experience at Château du Rivau unusual?
Château du Rivau offers a unique art of living: XXL sculptures by contemporary artists in the gardens, heritage collections reinterpreted by today’s artists inside the château, and immersive performances beneath the vaults of the Renaissance Stables, a listed Historic Monument.
How much time should I allow to visit the gardens and the château?
We recommend allowing at least 1.5 to 2 hours to fully appreciate the many facets of Rivau, stroll through its 15 fairytale gardens, and visit its five furnished rooms.
Can you stay overnight at Château du Rivau?
Yes, the Hôtel du Rivau allows you to extend the unusual experience by staying overnight in the heart of the estate. A night unlike any other, between enchanted gardens and historic architecture.
Is there a restaurant at Château du Rivau?
Château du Rivau offers two dining options with distinct atmospheres. La Table des Fées provides relaxed “garden-to-plate” cuisine. Le Jardin Secret is a gourmet restaurant in a fairytale setting.
Is the site accessible to people with reduced mobility?
People with reduced mobility have two reserved parking spaces located 100 metres from the ticket office. The gardens, the press house, and the audiovisual trail in the Royal Stables are accessible. The gardens can be visited via natural gravel or unpaved paths, which may be accessible to wheelchairs depending on weather conditions. Two rooms of the château can be visited, by reservation only.
Can I visit Rivau with my dog?
Dogs are welcome in the gardens if kept on a leash. However, they are not allowed inside the château rooms (including in carriers or when held in arms).
