A magical garden

This garden celebrates plants with magical properties. The two inverted and intertwined hearts contain beneficial plants in one loop and harmful plants in the other.

Herbs with positive powers, used to charm or provide comfort, are planted in the heart that faces you upon entering this hidden garden. Plants with harmful properties are found in the heart that is revealed from within.

Long ago, ferny leaved tansy was said to inspire love and ward off the devil. Mugwort (Artemisia) found its way into absinthe, a potent elixir that could unhinge the mind. Rose petals, lavender and winter savory were used to flavour these magical concoctions. A collection of purple roses encircles the garden, creative bower for couples in love.

For those who do not already know, a plant’s magical power is strongest when it is gathered on the witches’s holiday, May day, naked in the morning dew !
