Château du Rivau, its royal sables and its gardens. Fortress with a donjon and a drawing bridge straight out of a fairytale. 12 beautiful gardens inspired by Legends and Myths of the Middle ages" lang="en" xml:lang="en" />

With its majestic keep and its protective drawbridge, the Château du Rivau seems to come straight out of a fairy tale. The castle’s gardens were directly inspired by medieval tales and folklore.
Today fairies have taken over the gardens and made a home out of them yet in the past, great historical figures like Joan of Arc or Rabelais have deeply influenced this medieval castle and its Renaissance stables. When visiting the Rivau, you will not only discover a genuine medieval fortress but also botanic arts, contemporary sculptures and a peaceful restaurant open from April 1st to September 30th.
